High Salary D

Brent Burns-San Jose Sharks ($8,300): Burns continued his torrid pace on Saturday with a goal and an assist. He’s now up to 37 points for the season and has a six-game point streak. With 14 points over his last nine games Burns couldn’t be producing any better for fantasy owners. Of course it will cost a lot of cap space but you won’t care if he get anywhere near his 5.6 average of fantasy points a game.

Mark Giordano-Calgary Flames ($6,300): Giordano has been hot over the last few weeks and continued his streak with an assist in his last game on Thursday. He has put up points in four straight games and has 12 points over the last nine games. His price tag is $2,000 less than Burns and with an average of 3.9 fantasy points a game he give you great production at a discounted rate.

High Value D

Marc-Edouard Vlasic-San Jose Sharks ($4,400): Vlasic definitely gets overshadowed by Brent Burns but he’s having a fantastic stretch in his own right. He picked up two helpers on Saturday night and has three in the last two games. He has seven points in his last seven games and should be considered the top value pick at defenseman tonight.

Jake Muzzin-LA Kings ($4,700): Muzzin is a sleeper pick tonight but he has put up 20 total points this year and has three points in his last four games. He’ll go up against Detroit, the 28th-ranked team against opposing defensemen. If you are looking to save money with a value defenseman be sure to check out Muzzin.
