Five reasons the Arizona Cardinals can win Super Bowl 50
3. Veteran Leadership
The Arizona Cardinals aren’t a team that’s going to be in the news for in-house fighting and organizational issues. They have purged the roster since 2013 and have instilled character guys into the locker room. Each of these guys work hard and do whatever they can to lead the team to success.
They have guys on the roster who have been to Super Bowls and won Super Bowls. Guys like Larry Fitzgerald, Jerraud Powers, Mike Iupati, Red Bryant, Dwight Freeney, Calais Campbell, Cory Redding and Carson Palmer all are major voices and examples of hard workers in the locker room, which creates a great environment for the young players as they learn the ropes of the NFL.
Teams that win Super Bowls have to have players that can keep things in check when times are tough before letting things slip away. They’re calm, cool and collected on the field, which stems from their head coach.
When they’ve faced tough situations, such as being down in the fourth quarter at the Seattle Seahawks in prime time, they went down and scored two touchdowns as if it was nothing.
That’s the type of maturity a Super Bowl team needs to have. The Cardinals have guys that have had the privilege of being a champion, but also have plenty of guys that want the chance to be called a champion.
That’s the motivation and perseverance that is going to drive them to the Super Bowl.
