2. Carson Palmer

What is there to say about Carson Palmer that hasn’t already been said?

The guy has put together one of the most remarkable seasons of his career after he tore his ACL in 2014. He worked hard to get back on the field and has put together a season worthy of MVP discussion. As Palmer goes, so do the Arizona Cardinals.

He’s been one of the best quarterbacks in football this season, if not the best pure passer, and his teammates have benefited as a result. His head coach Bruce Arians likes to take the big shots and so does Palmer, who hasn’t been afraid to air it deep to his speedsters in John Brown and J.J. Nelson.

Arians constantly talks about quarterbacks needing a short-term memory to succeed in the NFL. Palmer is the definition of that at the quarterback spot. No matter the bad pass or mistake, he is able to shake it off with ease and go right back on the field and lead the team down for a score.

He’s also shown that he’s tough and has no fear. Plenty of quarterbacks who have torn knee ligaments on multiple occasions have been afraid to stand tall in the pocket and take big hits, but Palmer hasn’t been afraid to.

He knows that for his team to succeed on the field, he has to be the one to lead them where they want to go. This is a whole new era for Palmer in his career.

It’s an era where he sheds old labels and creates new ones.
