4) Riverboat Ron

In the playoffs you need a coach who isn’t going to be afraid of the moment. The Panthers have exactly that in head coach “Riverboat” Ron Rivera.

He’s not the type to play it safe and won’t be intimidated for a second if he needs to make a gutsy play call to help his team win a playoff game. He’s known for his willingness to trust his offense and go for it on fourth down more often than many of his counterparts around the NFL.

When the playoffs arrive, there’s just winning and losing. Coming close doesn’t count a bit so having a coach like Rivera works in your favor. You want a guy who’s coaching to win no matter what. That’s a huge plus for the Panthers.

Aside from his gutsy decision-making, Rivera also clearly has the support of his players. They know he has their best interest at heart and as a former player, he knows what it takes for them to be successful in the league. When the chips are down, they’ll put their trust in Rivera.

Riverboat Ron gives the Panther players a huge edge as they try to finish their season with just one loss.
