3) Home Field Advantage

The Panthers may not have ended their regular season as perfectly as they hoped, but their 15-1 record wasn’t all bad. It does provide them with home field advantage all the way to the Super Bowl.

The advantages of playing at home are pretty obvious. The Panthers players will get to sleep in their own beds, be with their families and overall just stay in their normal routine during playoff preparations. They don’t have to worry about travel, waking up in a strange place or any of the irritations that come with playing on the road.

Aside from that, the atmosphere at Bank of America stadium should give the team a significant home-field advantage. This is a town that’s fully behind their team and wants to will them to a Super Bowl. They’ve come close once before, but Charlotte still hasn’t tasted a Super Bowl victory. You can bet the crowd will be out to fix that this year.

Playing in Charlotte also means the Panthers can likely avoid playing in any severe weather conditions. There won’t be any snowy trips to Green Bay or monsoons in Seattle for this team to overcome. They will enjoy a relatively mild climate for the Super Bowl run.

Playing at home doesn’t assure you of playoff success, but it definitely increases your odds.
