10. Garo Yepremian – Super Bowl VII

Ultimately, this didn’t affect the outcome of the game. The points scored off of this botched kick were the only ones the Redskins scored all game, and this Super Bowl will always be remembered as the Dolphins capping off their perfect season. Nonetheless, this had to be included because it was hilariously awful.

Up 14-0 in the fourth quarter, how poetic it would’ve been if the 17-0 Dolphins won the Super Bowl by a score of 17-0. However, the sports gods would not let that come to fruition once Garo’s kick was blocked. Trying to make something of it, Garo recovered the ball and hilariously tried to throw it for a first down. The intention was good, but the botched pass ended up getting picked off by Redskins cornerback Mike Bass. And this is why kickers are specialists.

The score gave the Redskins hope that they could win the game yet, but the 14-7 score held up and the Dolphins won the game. However, it never should’ve come down to that and had the Redskins tied it, “Garo’s Gaffe” might’ve ended up higher on this list and might’ve been regarded as one of the worst Super Bowl blunders of all time.
