High Salary SF

LeBron James-Cleveland Cavaliers (10,000):  LeBron lit up the Sixers on Sunday for 37 points in 37 minutes while adding his typical well-rounded stat line to get to 63.75 fantasy points. He has at least 45 fantasy points in five of his last six games with a pair of 59+ fantasy point performances in his last three games.  As he leads his Cavaliers into Dallas, look for him to again carry the offense and continue to be low-risk play since he does contribute in so many other categories on a nightly basis.  He’s finding more spacing with Kyrie back, and his jumper has looked much better this month than it did at the end of December when he struggled a little after his team’s Christmas Day defeat.

Paul George-Indiana Pacers (9,100): George is higher risk than Carmelo Anthony tonight, but he’s in a good matchup against the Suns and definitely capable of going off for a huge fantasy night.  George has at least 49 fantasy points in four of his last six contests including on Sunday when he had a well-balanced stat line of 20 points, seven steals, six rebounds, four assists, and two blocks against Houston.  The Pacers welcome in Phoenix tonight who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing SF, so it’s possible PG13 goes off for a huge night although I still think Anthony is a safer play.

Carmelo Anthony-New York Knicks (8,500): The other big-name SF that I’d look at tonight is Carmelo Anthony who has at least 20 points in seven of his last eight games and has five double-doubles in his last nine.  He has at least 40 fantasy points in four straight games and is even picking up some good assist numbers falling just two helpers shy of a triple-double on Sunday against the Bucks. ‘Melo should be able to have a good game at home tonight against the Celtics who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing SF this season and have been a repeated victim of some of Melo’s best games in his career.  When the two teams met earlier this year, Anthony had 29 points and ten boards, and I think he’s one of the better star plays of the night especially with the Knicks putting together a nice little surge to start off the New Year. ∗∗
