High Value SF

Tony Allen-Memphis Grizzlies (4,900): Another player stepping up for Memphis with all their injuries has been Tony Allen. He has been excellent for the short-handed Grizzlies stepping up with 15 points and ten rebounds against his former team the Celtics on Sunday giving him back-to-back games with 30 fantasy points. He has scored at least 30 fantasy points each of his last three games in which he last played 30 minutes, but he’s still a risky pick tonight since Courtney Lee is expected to return which could eat away some of Allen’s playing time.  He’s still a good play, but there is definitely risk involved even in a good matchup against Houston.

Mirza Teletovic-Phoenix Suns (4,700): The Suns rotation is still a mess, but Teletovic is one of their few reliable scorers, so he should keep getting playing time.  He has at least 13 points in each of Phoenix’s last five games and has 23 fantasy points or more in four of those five games.  He is a long-distance threat coming off the bench, so his numbers can fluctuate from game-to-game, but he makes a solid cheap play tonight.

Stanley Johnson-Detroit Pistons (4,200): Johnson got his first career start on Saturday against Brooklyn and had a solid 20 fantasy points on eight points, four boards, and two steals.  He has at least 20 fantasy points in three straight games now, and he should get enough playing time tonight against the Spurs to be a fantasy factor even if the score turns one-sided.  If Marcus Morris is out again tonight, Johnson will have to start against Kawhi Leonard, but with enough minutes he should still be a nice bargain. With Morris-∗∗ Without Morris-∗∗∗

Shabazz Muhammad-Minnesota Timberwolves (4,000): Another cheap SF option in a much less intimidating matchup is Shabazz Muhammad who won’t have to deal with Kawhi Leonard’s defense as the T-Wolves take on the Thunder. Muhammad has finally started getting playing time lately and has been producing.  He has at least 21 fantasy points in five of his last six games and has scored double-digits in each of those five contests.  He should again be able to produce if he gets the playing time in coach Sam Mitchell’s rotation, so give him a look if you have to go cheap at SF.
