DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- January 12
High Salary W
Patrick Kane-Chicago Blackhawks ($9,000): Kane’s salary has now hit the $9,000 mark as he continues to be playing the best hockey of anyone in the NHL. He scored twice on Sunday night and is up to 25 goals for the season. He trails Alex Ovechkin by one in goals but leads the league in points (62) and assists (37). Kane is an absolute beast in fantasy hockey and is averaging 5.4 fantasy points a game. If you can take the cap hit, go ahead and deploy Kane tonight.
Vladimir Tarasenko-St. Louis Blues ($7,900$): Tarasenko has 44 points in 43 games and has rewarded owners in fantasy hockey with an average of 4.5 points a game. He picked up an assist his last time out and has points in four of his last five games. Tarasenko plays a big role for the Blues and gets plenty of time with the man advantage. He’s almost never a bad choice for your daily lineup.
Zach Parise-Minnesota Wild ($7,800): Parise has been playing well as of late with five points in his last four games. All five points have come in the form of goals, aided by a hat trick on January 5. Parise hasn’t been producing as much as we’ve seen in the past, but with an average of four fantasy points a game and a very favorable matchup with Buffalo tonight he’s a fine selection for your lineup.
High Value W
Ryan O’Reilly-Colorado Avalanche ($6,000): His price tag is a bit too high for the value category but it’s still a few thousand less that the highest-priced winger option. O’Reilly dished out an assist on Sunday and is working on a three-game point streak with two goals and an assist. He’s put up seven points in his last eight games and needs a spot in fantasy lineups tonight.
Cam Atkinson-Columbus Blue Jackets ($4,600): Atkinson has continued to roll recently and he netted another goal on Saturday. He’s up to 26 points for the year with eight of them coming in the last 10 games. He’s been logging good ice time, particularly on the power play, and is on pace to top the 50-point mark. That would be a career-high for the youngster. He goes up against the Islanders tonight who are ranked 18th in points allowed to right wingers. Atkinson has raised his fantasy points average to 3.1 and is definitely worth a start.
Shane Doan-Arizona Coyotes ($4,200): The Coyotes have been a surprise team thus far and Doan has been a big reason for that. The veteran winger has 22 points in 32 games and dished out an assist in his last game. He had a two-goal game on January 4 and has eight points over his last six games. The Edmonton Oilers are ranked 29th versus right-wingers, making Doan eligible for a big night.
