FanDuel DFS daily picks: Optimal fantasy hockey lineup – January 12
High Salary C
Sidney Crosby – Pittsburgh Penguins ($8,300): Crosby has been playing extremely well lately with 12 points in his last ten games. Even though he has been held pointless in each of his last two games, he’s back to being the Sidney Crosby that fantasy owners know and love. Crosby goes against the Hurricanes tonight. He has 38 points in 30 career games against them. He averages 3.2 fantasy points per game.
Jonathan Toews – Chicago Blackhawks ($8,600): Toews has 31 points in 44 games this season. He has two consecutive multi-point games during which he has five points. He has 11 points in his last 10 games. He has 34 points in 41 career games against the Nashville Predators. He plays them tonight. He averages 3.3 fantasy hockey points per game.
High Value C
Ryan O’Reilly – Buffalo Sabres ($5,100): It’s a darn shame that O’Reilly is on a bad hockey team because he deserves a lot more recognition than he currently gets. With 36 points in 42 games this season, he is on pace to shatter his previous career high in points. He has a three game point streak and has eight points in his last nine games. He averages 3.2 fantasy hockey points per game.
Joe Thornton – San Jose Sharks ($4,900): Thornton is a ridiculous value when you consider that he has 31 points in 40 games this season. That’s as many as Toews has and Thornton costs $3,700 less. Thornton has been looking like his usual self as of late with points in nine of his last ten games. He has 14 points in his last 10 games. He averages 3.1 fantasy points per game.
Brandon Dubinsky – Columbus Blue Jackets ($5,100): Dubinsky has been taking over Ryan Johansen’s role as the first line center in Columbus. He has points in four of his last five games and has 22 points in 36 games this season. He averages 2.3 fantasy points per game.
