High Salary C

Aleksander Barkov-Florida Panthers ($5,800): Barkov’s salary being under $6,000 wouldn’t normally have him listed among the high salary centers but he is tonight due to there being so few options. Regardless of how you classify Barkov, he is a must-start. He’s got points in five straight games and 10 points over his last eight games. Tonight he gets a fantastic match with Calgary, a team ranked 27th against opposing centers.

Patrice Bergeron-Boston Bruins ($7,400): Bergeron is a high salary target each night he plays. Although he didn’t pick up a point his last time out on Monday he does have points in three of the last six games and has 38 on the season. He is averaging 4.3 fantasy points a game and gets to go up against the Flyers tonight- the worst team in the league when it comes to points allowed to centers.

High Value C

Nazem Kadri-Toronto Maple Leafs ($5,500): Kadri gets a great matchup tonight with Columbus, a team that has been very generous to opposing centers in terms of fantasy points. He enters the game with points in four of his last five games and 11 points in his last 11 games. Kadri is hot right now and needs to be in your lineup.

Ryan Spooner-Boston Bruins ($4,600): Spooner notched an assit on Monday night and now has recorded at least a point in five of his last six games. He has raised his fantasy points per game average to 2.7 and is still available at a decent price. An extremely favorable matchup with Philly makes Spooner someone who needs to be in your lineup tonight.

Mikael Backlund-Calgary Flames ($3,800): Backlund doesn’t have the best matchup tonight considering the Flames are hosting Florida, but don’t let that sway your decision. He has a great price tag and is coming off a two-assist game on Monday versus San Jose. He’s been cold as of late but his latest performance may be a sign that he’s starting to heat up. He shouldn’t be heavily owned, making Backlund a solid value pick.
