High Salary D

Erik Karlsson-Ottawa Senators ($7,500): Karlsson is up to 45 total points for the year and has three points in his last four games. He’s one of the favorites for the Norris Trophy this season and is one of the top options for defensemen in fantasy hockey. Karlsson was kept off the scoresheet in Washington on Sunday but is averaging 4.7 fantasy points a game, the highest among available defensemen tonight. If you have the cap space, Karlsson is always a great pick for daily fantasy hockey.

Mark Giordano-Calgary Flames ($6,300): Giordano is going up against Florida tonight, the best team at allowing points to opposing defensemen. However, despite the difficult matchup, Giordano is on fire. He’s got a five-game point streak and 13 points in his last 10 games. Hopefully the matchup will keep his ownership down, but he’s too hot not to put into your lineup.

High Value D

Michael Del Zotto-Philadelphia Flyers ($4,000): Del Zotto recently had a seven-game pointless streak but has turned it around in his last two games. He had two goals on January 7 and dished out an assist on January 9. Del Zotto will take his two-game point streak into a home tilt with Boston tonight. The Bruins rank 21 against defensemen, making Del Zotto an interesting play.

David Savard-Columbus Blue Jackets ($3,900): Savard makes an excellent sleeper target tonight thanks to he is recent production. He missed six games with an ankle injury and has registered points in three of the five games and two-in-a-row since his return to action. He found the back of the net for the first time this season last night and also has 15 assists. Dating back prior to his injury he’s got four assists in eight games and will go up against Toronto tonight, a team that’s dead last when it comes to fantasy points allowed to defensemen.
