Honorable Mentions

  • TCU QB Bram Kohlhausen (28/45 for 351 yards, 11 carries for 45 yards, 4 TDs 1 INT) – Hard to exclude Kohlhausen, who played about as well as one could hope a backup to play, but let’s be real, TCU doesn’t come close to winning if Vernon Adams Jr. stays healthy for all four quarters. After the season TCU had, it was nice to see the Horned Frogs end the year on a high-note.
  • LSU RB Leonard Fournette (29 carries for 212 yards, one reception for 44 yards, 5 TDs) – A college football season highlighted by remarkable performances from running backs ends a bit differently than it started, as one-time Heisman hopeful Leonard Fournette can only make the Honorable Mentions. Fournette once topped just about everyone’s MVP list, yet now he’s just one of five backs mentioned at the season’s end.
  • Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell (six receptions for 71 yards, 1/1 for 45 yards, 3 TDs) – Another guy that’s tough to leave off, but with only six catches in a 28-point blowout it’s tough to say Ole Miss absolutely needed Treadwell to win the game. The good news is each touchdown raises the wide receiver’s draft stock, as Treadwell looks to be one of three Rebels drafted in the Top 15.
