DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup – January 17
High Salary C
Sidney Crosby-Pittsburgh Penguins ($7,100): Crosby has heated up lately with three points in his last two games. He’s got 10 points in his last eight games and will look to keep it going today against Carolina. The Hurricanes have been tough on opposing centers this year, but don’t let that deter you. Crosby is still a mega talent and will make for a good selection for your lineup.
John Tavares-New York Islanders ($7,800): Tavares will cost you more than any center on the board tonight, but he’s been worth the price lately. He’s working on a two-game point streak with two assists. Tavares started the new year slow but has the talent to turn it on at any time. He’ll get a favorable home game with Vancouver today and is a good high-priced center to target.
Steven Stamkos-Tampa Bay Lightning ($7,600): Stamkos stayed hot on Friday with two assists against Pittsburgh. That performance followed a two-goal game on Tuesday. He’s got 10 points over his last nine games and will be counted on to provide offense in a tough game tonight versus Florida. Stamkos is playing his best hockey of the year right now and is a solid fantasy target.
High Value C
Anze Kopitar-LA Kings ($5,900): Kopitar picked up an assist on Saturday and extended his point streak to three games, including a monster performance on Jan. 11 when he scored a goal and dished out three assists. With 16 points over the last 10 games Kopitar is officially on fire. Keep him rolling against Anaheim tonight.
Brock Nelson-New York Islanders ($4,800): Nelson followed up his hat trick on Jan. 12 with another goal on Thursday. He’s now riding a two-game point streak and has seven points over his last five games. Don’t expect a hat trick today, but he’s certainly capable of finding the scoresheet in a favorable matchup with Vancouver. The Canucks are ranked 2oth in points allowed to opposing centers.
Vladislav Namestnikov-Tampa Bay Lightning ($3,400): If you are looking to save some serious cap space at center today than look no further than Tampa Bay’s Vladislav Namestnikov. The youngster, though listed as a center, has been spending time on the top line with fellow center Steven Stamkos. Namestnikov has taken full advantage of his opportunity and has four-game point streak. He’s got eight points over the four games, thanks in large part to a hat trick on Friday. It’s unrealistic to expect another three-goal performance from him, but there’s no denying that he he hot right now.
