High Salary G

Semyon Varlamov – Colorado Avalanche ($7,600): There are not many attractive high-priced options available at goalie tonight due to either poor play recently or bad matchups. Of the group, Semyon Varlamov is probably the best option, though he has really struggled as of late and sat on the bench for the last two games. However, he should be well-rested and ready to face a Winnipeg team tonight that hasn’t been very good at scoring goals. There are better options that are cheaper than Varlamov tonight, but among the high salary goalies, he should be the target.

High Value G

Al Montoya – Florida Panthers (7,200): Montoya has done a fantastic job spelling starting netminder Roberto Luongo this season. He’s put up an overall record of 7-1-1 and has a GAA of just 1.70 along with a .937 save percentage. Luongo protected the net for the Panthers last night, meaning that Montoya is likely up for the start tonight. Just make sure he actually is starting before inserting him into your lineup, but if he does play he’ll draw a very favorable matchup with Edmonton.

Martin Jones – San Jose Sharks ($7,100): Jones has been really sharp as of late and got an impressive overtime win versus Dallas on Saturday night. He has won his last four starts and is a big reason for the recent success that the Sharks have enjoyed. He’s up to 20 wins on the year and has earned his fantasy owners over seven points a game in the four most recent wins. Ottawa is able to score at a good clip, but Jones sill makes for a decent fantasy start at goalie tonight.
