High Salary PG

Stephen Curry-Golden State Warriors (10,900): Curry had just 19 points on Christmas Day against the Cavs but did add seven assists and seven rebounds.  Lately, scoring hasn’t been a problem for the reigning MVP who has at least 30 points in four of his last five games and at least 25 points in seven of his last eight.  His non-scoring numbers have been fairly steady as well resulting in 43+ fantasy points in five of his last six games including three games over 55 fantasy points in his last five contests.  He and the Warriors will look to avoid dropping back-to-back games as they head into Cleveland tonight after losing to Detroit on Saturday when Curry still led the way with 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals for 55.9 fantasy points. Curry is an expensive option, but if you can spend wisely elsewhere he’s a good pick to go off for a monster night against the Cavs.∗∗∗

Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (9,400): Paul is coming off a down game against the Kings on Saturday when foul trouble limited him to just 27 minutes.  He still managed 28.3 fantasy points but it snapped a streak of four games with over 44 fantasy points. The Clippers streak of ten straight wins also came to an end against the Kings, and they’ll look to bounce back tonight ast they host Houston in the late game. Houston beat the Lakers last night, and will look to complete the LA sweep tonight against the Clips. Paul had a double-double with 12 points and ten assists  in the first meeting of these two teams, and since he’s significantly cheaper than Curry he makes an interesting option for tonight although the matchup with Patrick Beverley isn’t a great one for CP3. Beverley (ankle) was active but didn’t play last night against the Lakers, but that could be to help him be closer to 100% for tonight’s matchup. ∗∗

Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (9,000): The Raptors are back from their London jaunt and will be in action against Brooklyn tonight.  Lowry had 24 points against the Magic across the pond while adding eight boards and six assists in a 44.6-fantasy-point effort that gave him six straight games with at least 40 fantasy points. One of those games came against the Nets when he had 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals agains them back on January 6.  Look for the Raptors to roll over the Nets tonight with the only risk for Lowry being less playing time due to a rout. ∗∗∗

Kyrie Irving-Cleveland Cavaliers (7,500): With so many elite PG in action tonight, there is a huge gap in the midrange of the salary structure.  The only option between 5K-9K that I like for tonight is Kyrie Irving, and he’s a little risky due to his inconsistency since coming back to the lineup. Irving has put up a few clunkers, but has managed four games with at least 30 fantasy points in his last seven including two with at least 40 fantasy points. He had just returned from his injury the last time the Cavs played the Warriors and still took 15 shots managing just 4-15 from the field and 0-6 from long distance.  He finished that Christmas Day game with just 13 points, but I expect him to be much better than that tonight and stay just as involved in the attack. He’s risky due to his inconsistency, but I actually like him quite a bit in tonight’s matchup. ∗∗
