51.
Doesn’t it feel like every year we’re handed a couple of quarterbacks whom we’re supposed to fall in love with, yet we never knew they existed before January. Jimmy Garoppolo, Tom Savage, et al. Well, welcome to the party, Carson Wentz.

Wentz was quarterback for the North Dakota State Bison. For his career at NDSU, Wentz threw for over 5,000 yards and notched 45 touchdowns. He also led the Bison to a championship during the 2015-16 season. He’s a big cat, standing at 6’6 and weighing in around 235 lbs. Much like Paxton Lynch, he’ll have people drooling all over him based on size alone. The fact that Mel Kiper already has Wentz going in his first round (Texans) should say enough that you’ll become overly familiar with him.

As for the Rams, well, it’s not hard to see why they would like Wentz. After spending so much energy on Mr. Glass (Sam Bradford) and then suffering through a season of the banged up Nick Foles they want somebody who can both stay on the field and have a shot at maybe being competent.

Wentz has the makings of a guy that will slide all around the draft board – in and out of the first three rounds – over the next four months. This week, he’s sitting pretty with the Rams.
. QB. North Dakota State. Carson Wentz. 15. player
