Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are the team that might need Marshawn Lynch the most. Despite having the fifth-most rushing attempts of all NFL teams this season, the Texans finished near the bottom in rushing yards per attempt (3.7 yards per attempt). They are expected to release incumbent running back Arian Foster. Alfred Blue and Chris Polk were both underwhelming in relief of Foster this season. The Texans offense relies heavily on the run so they need a reliable running back. Marshawn Lynch could be that guy for them while they figure out what to do long-term.

Lynch would be familiar with the Texans offense. Their system is very similar to the one that is run by the Seattle Seahawks. Lynch would likely be familiar with a lot of the plays and the reads that he would have to make. That could be very appealing to Lynch and it would certainly help the Texans.

The Texans should be willing to take a gamble on Lynch considering how weak the AFC South is. They could easily win the division again if they improve their running game. Lynch could be a cheap way to do that. The Texans and Lynch are a match made in heaven.
