High Salary W

Patrick Kane-Chicago Blackhawks ($9,100): Kane now has a salary that makes it tough to draft him and still have room for other quality targets. With that said, he is an absolute fantasy beast with an average of 5.5 fantasy points a game. He picked up a goal and an assist in his last game on Sunday. That performance followed a hat trick on Friday night. Take Kane, but you’ll have to get creative at the other positions.

Alexander Ovechkin-Washington Capitals ($8,700): Ovechkin netted his 27th goal of the season on Sunday and broke a two-game scoreless streak. Ovechkin is having a great season but is getting overshadowed by the gaudy numbers that Patrick Kane is putting up. Ovie is averaging 5.1 fantasy points a game and gets a great matchup with Columbus tonight. There’s a bit of risk in spending so much on Ovechkin, as he does fail to show up on the scoresheet at times. However, when he’s hot, the production can be sky-high.

Jamie Benn-Dallas Stars ($8,700): Benn continues to shine bright for the Stars and leads one of the most potent offenses in the league. Benn picked up two assists on Saturday and now has a three-game point streak going. He’s got 56 points through 46 games and is always a top fantasy target at winger. The price is high, but it’s tough to argue against putting Benn in your lineup.

High Value W

Justin Williams-Washington Capitals ($5,100): The Capitals are reaping the benefits of picking up Justin Williams over the offseason. He has produced 31 points thus far and is earning fantasy owners an average of 3.3 fantasy points a game. He recorded a hat trick on Sunday night and has seven points over his last five games. A great matchup with Columbus, a team ranked 27th against right wingers, makes Williams a must-start tonight.

Chris Kreider-New York Rangers ($4,200): Kreider is red-hot right now after scoring two goals against the Capitals on Sunday. He has a three-game point streak and three goals over the last two games. Tonight’s opponent, Vancouver, ranks 26th against left wingers. That’s great news for Kreider and anyone who decides to use him. He needs to be in a daily fantasy lineup tonight.

Michael Raffl-Philadelphia Flyers ($3,300): Raffl is usually below the fantasy radar but he has played himself into the conversation of being considered for fantasy lineups with his recent stretch of games. He has just 12 points this year but has recorded four points over the last five games. There’s no guarantee he’ll give you good production, but with a low price and a very favorable matchup with Toronto, it’s certainly worth taking a chance on Raffl tonight.
