High Salary C

Evgeni Malkin-Pittsburgh Penguins ($7,600): Malkin netted his 20th goal on Monday night and now has a three-game point streak with five points over that stretch and 13 points over the last 10 games. Malkin started slow this season but is now on fire. He’s averaging four fantasy points a game and gets a very favorable matchup tonight with Philadelphia, a team ranked 28th against opposing centers.

Sidney Crosby-Pittsburgh Penguins ($7,200): Like his Pittsburgh teammate Evgeni Malkin, Crosby is also hot right now. He picked up an assist in Monday’s game and now has a four-game point streak and 13 points over the last 10 games. Crosby is feeling it right now and once again makes for a very good fantasy target. Take him tonight in a great matchup with Philadelphia.

Ryan Johansen-Nashville Predators ($6,000): Johansen has certainly enjoyed his change of scenery. Since being traded to the Predators, he’s played in six games and has recorded seven points. Even before the trade he was having a solid season but it’s even better now. His fantasy points average has risen to over three a game. A very favorable matchup in Winnipeg awaits him tonight, making Johansen a very attractive fantasy option at center.

Logan Couture-San Jose Sharks ($6,200): Couture has been hot since returning from an injury on Dec. 30. He’s played in nine games and has registered six points. He’s only played in a total of 14 games this year, so he’s likely still shaking off some rust. However, he seems to be getting back into the groove with a two-game point streak going. A good matchup with Arizona tonight, a team ranked 26th in points allowed to opposing centers, should give him a good chance to keep up his excellent play.

High Value C

Joe Thornton-San Jose Sharks ($5,100): Thornton is playing fantastic hockey right now and is an absolute must-start in daily fantasy formats, especially with a matchup as good as tonight. He’ll get to go up against Arizona, the 26th-ranked team against centers. Thornton has a six-game point streak and has 19 points in 15 games. Be sure to plug him into your lineup tonight.

Mikael Backlund-Calgary Flames ($3,800): Calgary makes a visit to Columbus tonight, meaning that all of the Flames centers get an extremely favorable matchup, as the Blue Jackets are ranked 30th in the league in points allowed to centers. Backlund is a guy who will benefit. Given his low price tag, you’ll want to take advantage. He just had a three-game point streak broken but has five points over his last seven games. Backlund is a good sleeper pick tonight.
