4. Kristaps Porzingis

Four out of the five players on this list are based wholly on their production and performance this season in terms of their All-Star candidacy. The one that’s not, however, is New York Knicks rookie big man Kristaps Porzingis. As simply as it can be said, Porzingis is deserving of an All-Star starting nod because it would be the most entertaining thing on the planet to see him in that position in his first year in the NBA.

In his rookie season, Porzingis has been a revelation for the Knicks. While many fans of New York and just of the NBA lamented the pick when the franchise selected him with the No. 4-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, he has made everyone who had those opinions look silly. With his highlight blocks and putback dunks, Porzingis has won over Knicks fans and NBA fans in general with his electrifying play. Even better, the 20-year-old has showed that he can already be a productive force in this league as he’s put up 14 points, 7.9 rebounds and two blocks in 28.2 minutes per game as a rookie.

His stats aren’t nearly on the level as the other players that you look at as snubs for the All-Star Game starters, but that’s irrelevant in all of this. You know that Porzingis deserves to be a starter, because who doesn’t want to see Three Six Latvia tear it down in Toronto.
