High Salary D

Erik Karlsson-Ottawa Senators ($7,300): Karlsson is the clear leader in fantasy points per game among available defensemen tonight. He’s earned his owners ann average of 4.6 points a game and is working on back-to-back games with an assist. He’s got six points in his last seven games and gets a decent matchup with the Islanders tonight. Karlsson is one of the best in the NHL at dishing the puck to his teammates and he’s in the running for the Norris Trophy this season. If you are looking to spend big at defenseman tonight then plug Karlsson into your lineup.

Duncan Keith-Chicago Blackhawks ($6,000): Keith is a steady player for the Blackhawks and has been a good producer of fantasy points over the last few seasons. He didn’t pick up a point last night but had a four-game point streak prior to that. Keith doesn’t score a lot but is a master at dishing out assists to his teammates. Florida will prove to be a tough matchup tonight, but Keith is talented and plays on a great team. You could do worse than Keith tonight.

High Value D

Ryan McDonagh-New York Rangers ($4,900): McDonagh is rolling right now with a three-game point streak and six points over the last six games. He is New York’s best option from the blueline and gets ample opportunities to produce points. He’s struggled at time this year but the current hot streak is a good sign. Take him against Carolina tonight as a good value pick.

Nick Leddy-New York Islanders ($4,200): Leddy has gone through both hot and cold stretches this season and is currently on a two-game point streak. He recently had a five-game point streak snapped and could be heating up again. Tonight’s matchup should help, as the Senators are ranked 29th in points allowed to opposing defensemen. If you are looking for good value at defenseman tonight, be sure to snag Leddy.
