High Value SG

J.J. Redick-Los Angeles Clippers (5,600): Redick had 17 points against the Cavs last night, but he had over 20 in five of his previous nine games including a monster 40-point performance against Houston on Monday.  Redick has at least 19 fantasy points in nine of his last ten games and is a low-risk option coming into Madison Square Garden tonight.  I don’t think it’s likely he goes off for 40 like he did against the Rockets, but he is a pretty safe pick to produce solid numbers against New York.

Rodney Hood-Utah Jazz (5,500): Hood had a huge game against Redick’s opponent on Wednesday scoring 29 points in 42 minutes and adding six boards and five assists for an impressive 43.7 fantasy points. He looked like he was on the verge of a breakout before an injury sidelined him a bit, but he is definitely back to full strength now and playing huge minutes for Utah (39 and 42 in his last two games).  Tonight, Hood is in a great matchup against the Nets who allow the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG, so play Hood with confidence as a midrange option tonight.

Terrence Ross-Toronto Raptors (3,800): Ross has at least 12 points in three of Toronto’s last four games and has at least 16 fantasy points in each of those contests.  He’s a cheap flier who could end up in a great matchup depending on exactly who Miami is able to get ready to be on the floor tonight in the North.

Joseph Young-Indiana Pacers (3,800): Young has played well in his extra time on the floor with Goerge Hill away from the team.  He had 25.7 fantasy points in 18 minutes against Denver on Sunday and followed that with 24.1 fantasy points in his 19 minutes on the floor against the Suns.  He should get playing time tonight even if the Warriors put the Pacers away early, and Young is actually a pretty safe play at his bargain price as a result of his recent numbers.

Jonathon Simmons-San Antonio Spurs (3,600): Simmons is not quite as safe a play as Young do to the Popovich factor, but the Spurs should get him some minutes tonight against the Lakers since the game will likely be over early.  Simmons played 25 minutes last night in Phoenix and ended ups tim 13 points and 15.7 fantasy points. He had even better numbers in just 15 minutes against Dallas when he totaled 22.6 fantasy points. Simmons is a scoring option coming off the bench for San Antonio, and he brings some nice hustle which could pay off against LA if things get out of hand tonight.
