4th East. Chicago Bulls. B-. player. 24. . 24-17

The Chicago Bulls are one of the hardest teams to assess at the midway point of the 2015-16 NBA season. They have really been a mixed bag over the first half of the year both in terms of performance and in terms of their chemistry and such. Subsequently, it’s quite difficult to figure out what grade accurately depicts what they’ve done to this point in the year.

The Bulls currently sit as the No. 3 team in the Eastern Conference, about the position that everyone expected them to. However, it’s not always been pretty as they’ve gotten to that position as Jimmy Butler and other players have expressed displeasure with head coach Fred Hoiberg and Hoiberg has also struggled with a crowded frontcourt in terms of rotations. Moreover, the Bulls have failed to separate themselves from a crowded middle of the conference despite being essentially expected to do just that.

Considering that the Bulls are pretty clearly going to be a playoff team this season after what they’ve shown in the first half of the year and taking into account what they’ve looked like at their best, you can’t give them anything but a grade that’s above-average. However, the causes for concern make it necessary to keep things in perspective as well when handing out a grade, thus making a B- seem like the right mark for Chicago.
