Washington Wizards. 5. player. 142. . Atlantic Division. Eastern Conference

The Washington Wizards might be the team that needs Luke Walton the most right now. Like the Rockets, the Wizards entered the 2015-2016 NBA season with very high expectations. As of January 22nd, they are out of the playoffs and one game out of a playoff spot. Even if they do wind up making the playoffs the team is clearly not going anywhere as long as Randy Wittman is their head coach. Majority owner Ted Leonsis is obsessed with winning. That’s why it would be a brilliant decision for the Wizards to hire Walton ASAP.

Like the Warriors, the Wizards need to run a more wide open offense. Luke Walton has studied under Steve Kerr as he has orchestrated and coached the NBA’s most exciting offense. He would take the lessons he’s learned to the nation’s capital and utilize one of the best point guards in the NBA in John Wall. Walton has been integral in the development of Steph Curry. Wall isn’t Curry, but Walton does have a pedigree for coaching point guards. Walton would help make Wall an even better player than what he is right now.

If the Wizards don’t right their ship soon or have another huge playoff disappointment, look for them to target Luke Walton.
