The New York Knicks are currently fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Some of their players have apparently taken that “fighting” part a little too literally.

During Saturday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets, Carmelo Anthony slapped Jeremy Lin across the face while Lin was going for a layup.

That’s not even an accidental slap. That’s a full-fledged uppercut slap. Lin was clearly upset about it but stayed in the game regardless. The Charlotte Hornets currently lead the Knicks by two going into halftime 45-43. The Hornets are trying to get back in the playoff picture as they are just three games below .500 entering Saturday. The Knicks are just one game below .500 and 1.5 games out of a playoff berth.

Carmelo Anthony is leading the New York Knicks by averaging 21.6 points per game. He is also averaging 7.5 rebounds per game, second on the Knicks to Kristaps Porzingis. He attempts 17.8 field goals per game, which is the highest on the team and he leads the Knicks with 4.1 assists per game. He also leads in PER (player efficiency rating) with a 21.0 rating.
