High Salary SG

Jimmy Butler-Chicago Bulls (8,500): Butler played through the flu last night and played well in 38 minutes against Boston finishing with 28 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and two steals on his way to 53.5 fantasy points. He has at least 40 fantasy points in seven of his last ten games highlighted by his 81-fantasy-point game against the Sixers.  Tonight, he and the Bulls tangle with LeBron and the new coach of the Cavs in primetime, and I like Butler as an option as long as he’s not feeling worse or too worn out from last night.

Khris Middleton-Milwaukee Bucks (7,300): Last night, Middletonhad 21 points last night in his 43 minutes adding seven assists, a block, a steal, and a rebound for 35.25 fantasy points. Middleton has at least 32 fantasy points in five of his last six games and seven of his last nine which makes him a very good play at this price.  He continues to be Milwaukee’s work horse and best offensive option and has now scored over 20 points in eight of his last nine games.  Look for him to keep things rolling tonight against the Pelicans who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG.∗∗

Andrew Wiggins-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,900): Wiggins has at least 30 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games and has been over 34 fantasy points in each of his last two games and four of those eight.  He has scored at least 20 points in those seven games and usually adds a few boards and assists as well as the occasional steal.  His non-scoring numbers aren’t good enough to make him elite right now, but he is playing plenty of minutes for Minnesota and should be well-rested since the Wolves haven’t played since Wednesday when he had 23 points, seven rebounds, and three assists for 37.75 fantasy points against the Mavericks. Memphis used to be a “stay-away” matchup, but this year they rank in the middle of the pack against opposing SG, so Wiggins is definitely usable tonight.

Monta Ellis-Indiana Pacers (6,900): Ellis was saddled with foul trouble early last night in his return to Golden State and only played 25 minutes scoring 18 points all in the second half.  He had a decent but not exceptional 29.75 fantasy points, but he should be relatively well-rested for tonight’s matchup with the Kings who allow the second-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG.  Ellis will likely slide back to SG since George Hill is expected to return tonight for Indiana.
