FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 23
High Salary SG
Jimmy Butler-Chicago Bulls (8,900): Butler played through the flu last night and played well in 38 minutes against Boston finishing with 28 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and two steals on his way to 49.3 fantasy points. He has at least 45 fantasy points in four of his last ten games highlighted by his 76-fantasy-point game against the Sixers. Tonight, he and the Bulls tangle with LeBron and the new coach of the Cavs in primetime, and I like Butler as an option as long as he’s not feeling worse or too worn out from last night. ∗∗
Giannis Antetokounmpo-Milwaukee Bucks (7,600): The Bucks SG/SF didn’t deliver like I was hoping for yesterday against the Rockets, but Antetokounmpo did have 30.2 fantasy points on 18 points, six rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal. He’ll lace them up again tonight as he and the Bucks visit New Orleans who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG. “The Alphabet” makes a good play again tonight although I wish he was a little bit cheaper since he almost always has at least 30 fantasy points but doesnt regularly stretch to 40 fantasy points which would be where he enters the full-value level at this price. ∗∗∗
Monta Ellis-Indiana Pacers (6,300): Ellis was saddled with foul trouble early last night in his return to Golden State and only played 25 minutes scoring 18 points all in the second half. He had a decent but not exceptional 28.1 fantasy points, but he should be relatively well-rested for tonight’s matchup with the Kings who allow the second-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing SG. Ellis will likely slide back to SG since George Hill is expected to return tonight for Indiana. ∗∗∗
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-Detroit Pistons (6,000): KCP has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games and six of his last nine. He is playing massive minute for Detroit’s Stan Van Gundy logging at least 37 minutes in three of his last four games. Tonight, he and the Pistons take on the Nuggets who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing SG, so Caldwell-Pope is a good play again tonight even though his non-scoring stats come and go sometimes. ∗∗
