High Salary PF

Anthony Davis-New Orleans Pelicans (10,300): Davis posted exactly 47.4 fantasy points for the second straight game on Thursday against the Pistons on 32 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.  He has at least 40 fantasy points in four of his last five games and has been able to stay injury-free.  If you are going to spend big on a star tonight, “The Brow” is a good option since he’s in a great matchup against the Bucks who allow the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing PF and don’t have the size to match up well with Davis. Davis could be in for a huge game, and at the very least should be able to get you over 45 fantasy points tonight.

Pau Gasol-Chicago Bulls (8,500): Although he may be a touch over-priced, Gasol is a solid PF to consider tonight coming off a double-double in Boston last night when he had 30.7 fantasy points on 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Gasol came into last night with at least 35 fantasy points in three of his previous four games and still has at least 35 fantasy points in five of his last nine.  He and the Bulls will look to spoil Tyronn Lue’s coaching debut on the National TV game of the night against the Cavs. His price makes him higher risk, but I think he should be in a place to play big minutes and get plenty of double-doubles with Joakim Noah out for the rest of the year.

Kevin Love-Cleveland Cavaliers (7,200): On the other side of the Cavs-Bulls game, Kevin Love is a solid play since he has posted two excellent games after an embarrassing game against the Warriors.  If you don’t count his ugly three-point game against Golden State, Love has six straight double-doubles and has posted over 37 fantasy points in four of his last seven games. He had 17 points and 18 rebounds against the nets on Wednesday and followed that with 18 points and 16 rebounds against the Clippers.  The Bulls interior defense struggles without Noah, so look for Love to be a good play again tonight as he tries to erase Monday’s disaster from the national sports consciousness with a big game on ABC tonight.

Kenneth Faried-Denver Nuggets (6,400): “The Manimal” has always been one of my favorites, but he has struggled this season and dealt with multiple injuries and sometimes uneven playing time.  He has picked things up lately, though with four straight games in double figures and two straight double-doubles with at least 33 fantasy points. Tonight against the Pistons, Faried is an option with plenty of upside, but he still isn’t getting 30+ minutes a night, so he is a little risky since he doesn’t have a ton of time to get his numbers in.
