Cam Newton is wearing some awesome cleats.

The Carolina Panthers are trying to reach their second Super Bowl in franchise history, and quarterback Cam Newton is leading the way. On Sunday afternoon before the NFC Championship Game, the former Heisman Trophy winner and national champion wore some epic cleats, showing each of his teammates’ names.

Newton is often criticized about his personality by national media folks, but this is one of the more team-first acts you will ever see. Newton is a showman and certainly loves the attention, but he’s a leader among men according to almost every teammate. Newton honoring all the players who have helped him reach this point is a class move.

This is the third straight year that Carolina has reached the playoffs with Newton at the helm, and the first time that the Panthers have gotten to the NFC title game with him. Last week, the Panthers took on the Seattle Seahawks and ended their reign in the NFC, rolling to a 31-0 lead in the second quarter before finishing the job, 31-24. Newton was great in that game, making all the big plays down the stretch.
