FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 24
High Value PG
Donald Sloan-Brooklyn Nets (4,400): Sloan had his worst game since taking over as starting point guard on Friday against Utah finishing with just 14.8 fantasy points on two points, four boards, and six assists. In each of his four games before that, Sloan had at least 23 fantasy points, and he should be able to get back to that level today against the Thunder who allow the eighth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. Sloan may not have much luck slowing down Russell Westbrook, but he should end up with a solid stat line at the end of the day. ∗∗∗∗
Isaiah Canaan-Philadelphia 76ers (3,900): Canaan has gotten increased playing time in the last few days due to injuries to Nik Stauskas and JaKarr Sampson. He has played over 24 minutes in each of the last three games and has posted at least 19 fantasy points in each of those three contests. He could end up starting if Sampson and Stauskas are both out tonight, and he’ll probably get to take on Isaiah Thomas on defense even though he’ll be playing the two-guard since Boston will try to shut down Ish Smith with Avery Bradley. If he starts, there is a lot to like about Canaan’s upside at this price point. If starting-∗∗∗ If not starting-∗∗
Cameron Payne-Oklahoma City Thunder (3,700): If the Thunder do pull away from Brooklyn, Payne could get some extra garbage time work which would make him a nice cheap option for tonight. He has at least 15 fantasy points in four of his last six games, but his playing time isn’t quite regular enough to count on him on a nightly basis at this point. However, if you think the Thunder bury the Nets early, Payne could be a nice value at the end of the day. ∗∗
