5. Ted Ginn, Jr.

Ted Ginn, Jr. was considered a bust by many people before this season began. He has found redemption and has unlocked his true potential in Carolina. Before this season, he had just one year with more than 600 receiving yards, and was pegged as a guy with alligator arms and butter fingers. He had 44 receptions for 739 receiving yards this season, averaged a career best 16.8 yards per catch and scored a career high 10 touchdowns. He had 11 career receiving touchdowns before this season began. He’s emerged as a legitimate star for the Panthers and his penchant for making big plays makes him a sleeper pick for the MVP of Super Bowl 50.

The Broncos have shown that they can be prone to big plays because their pass rush is very aggressive. Cam Newton is the kind of quarterback who has what it takes to stand tall despite that pressure and make big plays. Ginn will most likely be the guy helping Newton make those big plays. He won’t be making them on kick returns, but the Broncos have been hurt by their punt coverage this season. It wouldn’t surprise anyone if Ginn ran a punt back for a touchdown, would it?

What would be a terrific fairy tale season it would be for the former Ohio State star if he is named the MVP Super Bowl 50. It’s hard not to root for him.
