1. Cam Newton

Let’s face it: Cam Newton is the most likely candidate to be named the MVP of Super Bowl 50. Newton has thrived in the spotlight for his entire career. He’s made a living out of delivering his best performances for the biggest stages. He proved as much in college by winning the Heisman Trophy and a BCS National Championship. His two best performances that season were in the national championship against Oregon and two games earlier in the Iron Bowl against Auburn’s most hated rival Alabama. No one should be surprised if Newton’s history in big games repeats itself with him shining bright in Super Bowl 50.

Newton has emerged as an elite quarterback this season for the Panthers. He isn’t a conventional quarterback, but then again, what about Cam Newton is conventional? He’s changed the way that people view the position. They don’t all have to be Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. They can be outgoing and emotional like Newton. He has accounted for 45 touchdowns this season and over 4,400 combined yards. The Panthers offense requires a quarterback with a very unique skill set. Newton has proven that he is the perfect quarterback to run their offense.

The only question is, will Cam Newton dab if he is named the MVP of Super Bowl 50? The answer is most likely yes. And he’ll deserve to do it. Football fans wouldn’t have it any other way.
