2. Run Game

Football now is about airing it out. Going five wide and having your quarterback pick the opposing defense apart. That’s where the game is heading. However, you also need to run the ball. The teams that run the ball the best have the advantage at times. That’s how the Denver Broncos got to the Super Bowl. That’s also a big part of the Panthers game.

One of the things that makes Cam Newton so difficult to defend is his ability to run. The Panthers can run the option with him and he can take the pounding when he carries the ball because he’s so big.

One of the keys to this season was the Panthers had a healthy Johnathan Stewart for basically the entire season. Stewart ran for almost 1,000 yards in 13 games.

When Stewart wasn’t there, the offense didn’t miss a beat with Fozzy Whitaker and rookie Cameron Artis-Payne.

They also had Mike Tolbert at fullback, who a 243 pound bowling ball that Newton can give the ball to in any situation.
