Jason Pierre-Paul posts graphic photo from day after fireworks accident (Photo)
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul posted a picture of his hand from a day after his fireworks accident to Instagram.
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is set to become a free agent and has plenty to be thankful for. After a fireworks accident during the Fourth of July last year almost cost him his career, Pierre-Paul was able to get back on the field for the Giants this past season and contribute to the team, which is something that some thought he might not be able to do again.
While it’s unclear where he will end up next in the NFL, Pierre-Paul overcame a lot to make his way back to the NFL. He lost parts of his fingers and hand, which required him to adjust to life in the NFL differently. Still, Pierre-Paul took the challenge head on just as he always does and was happy to be back in the league.
Pierre-Paul also decided on Monday to share a graphic photo on his Instagram of what his hand looked like just a mere day after the accident itself. The photo was pretty graphic, but it highlights just how far back he had to come to step onto the field again.
The photo itself is hard to look at and the pain that he underwent is unimaginable. The fact that he was able to play again is nothing short of amazing and is a testament to the hard work by his doctors and himself to rehab his way back.
He knows how far he came and he wants everyone else to know just what he overcame to get back.
