DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 26
High Value C
Robin Lopez-New York Knicks (5,100): Before we get to all the options just under 5K, don’t overlook the Knicks’ version of the Lopez twins who has also been a productive option lately. He has at least 22 fantasy points in six of his last ten games and has three double-doubles in his last six games. Tonight, he’ll take on the Thunder who his brother just beat down on Sunday. ∗∗
Myles Turner-Indiana Pacers (4,800): There are four good plays at 4,800 at center tonight starting with Myles Turner who had a breakout road trip for the Pacers putting up four good games as the team traveled to Denver, Phoenix, Oakland, and Sacramento. In each of those four games, Turner had at least 27 fantasy points including a pair of games with over 40 fantasy points against the Nuggets (25 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks) and the Warriors (31 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, and a steal). Ian Mahinmi missed three of those four games with heel and ankle injuries which definitely helped Turner see a bump in minutes. With Mahinmi questionable to return tonight, Turner could lose some minutes, but given the way he was playing coach Frank Vogel has to find a way to keep him in the rotation tonight against the Clippers who are thin up front without Blake Griffin. If Mahinmi is out, Turner is my favorite of the 4.8K options at center. With Mahinmi-∗∗∗∗ Without Mahinmi-∗∗∗∗∗
Alex Len-Phoenix Suns (4,800): My second-favorite play at this popular price is Alex Len who I would go with over Turner if he starts tonight against the 76ers and Ian Mahinmi returns for Indiana. Only two NBA teams have allowed more fantasy points to opposing centers than the 76ers, and Len has been playing well lately with 35 minutes and over 30 fantasy points in each of his last two games. With Markieff Morris returning, Len could lose some playing time, but the Suns would be wise to keep developing their young big man since he’s much more a part of their future than Tyson Chandler. Hopefully Len’s minutes stay strong and he can put together another solid game at under 5K. ∗∗∗∗∗
Willie Cauley-Stein-Sacramento Kings (4,800): The third five-star play at 4.8K is the Kings’ Willie Cauley-Stein who qualifies as a PF on some sites but is stuck in the center spot with the rest of the value options on DraftKings . He has been starting alongside DeMarcus Cousins and has played at least 29 minutes in each of his last four games. Last night, he played 38 minutes in the double-overtime loss to Charlotte finishing with just nine points and nine rebounds but still getting to 20 fantasy points for the fourth straight game. He made a clutch dunk for the Kings last score of the night before a potential game-winner from Darren Collison rimmed out. Cauley-Stein is definitely back to being a big part of the Kings rotation and will be a great value tonight since he’s a double-double threat every time he takes the floor including tonight’s matchup against the Blazers who have struggled with their frontcourt defense this season. ∗∗∗∗∗
Enes Kanter-Oklahoma City Thunder (4,800): The final of the 4.8 options but still a player in a good spot to step up is the Thunder’s Enes Kanter who has always been a solid offensive option although his defensive limitations have kept him coming off the bench for coach Billy Donovan. That may change tonight with Steven Adams questionable with an elbow injury. In his absence, Kanter had eight points and ten rebounds against Brooklyn on Sunday and has at least 19.5 fantasy points in each of his last four games. He isn’t locked in to playing time, but if he gets it he can be a solid option at this price. ∗∗∗
Salah Mejri-Dallas Mavericks (3,500): If you decide to pass on all the 4,800 center plays there is a nice option all the way at the bottom of the center pool. There you’ll find Salah Mejri as an intriguing option tonight against the Lakers who give up the most fantasy points to opposing centers in the NBA. Mejri got a spot start in place of Zaza Pachulia on Sunday in Houston and finished with ten points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks for a total of 29.75 fantasy points. With Pachulia doubtful tonight, Mejri could be a steal again especially given his great matchup. Even with Pachulia out, JaVale McGee was a DNP-CD and Dwight Powell just played five minutes. Look for Mejri to get the playing time again tonight and be a solid value play at his super-cheap price. If Pachulia is out-∗∗∗∗∗
