High Salary C

Evgeni Malkin-Pittsburgh Penguins (7,800): Malkin has woken up as of late and is coming off a hat trick in his last game. He’s up to 47 points for the season and has eight points in the last five games. Malkin has once again turned into a fantasy stud and is a must-start on most nights. New Jersey makes for a tough opponent tonight but Malkin is rolling and makes for a great start.

Matt Duchene-Colorado Avalanche ($6,600): Duchene has struggled a bit recently and has seen his salary drop over the past few weeks. However, he can still be useful for fantasy hockey. He’s working on a two-game point streak and is up to 40 points for the season. He’s averaging 3.7 fantasy points a game and gets a good matchup tonight with San Jose. The Sharks are ranked 25th in fantasy points allowed to opposing centers.

Joe Pavelski-San Jose Sharks ($7,900): Pavelski has been the main source of offense for the Sharks this season and has been a reliable fantasy producer for his owners. He’s now up to 24 goals and 24 assists and is in the middle of a three-game point streak and has a goal in each of the last two games. Pavelski is pretty much a sure bet each night he takes the ice and doesn’t present much risk for fantasy owners. He’ll get a decent matchup tonight with Colorado and makes for a great target at center.

High Value C

Joe Thornton-San Jose Sharks (5,200): Thornton has been on absolute fire lately with at least a point in nine straight games. He’s got 20 points over the last 15 games and will have an opportunity tonight to keep it going in a game with Colorado. The veteran center is enjoying a very productive season and is a must-start while he is on this current hot streak.

Ryan Kesler-Anaheim Ducks ($4,600): Kesler has been under the radar this season with just 21 points but he’s become relevant again in the fantasy world over the last few weeks. Since the calendar turned to January Kesler has really come on with nine points in the last 10 games. He’s coming off a two-goal performance on Saturday and currently has a two-game point streak. Tonight he will go up against Boston, the 26th-ranked team against opposing centers.

Travis Zajac-New Jersey Devils ($3,800): Zajac started the season hot but then quickly cooled down. He’s still been struggling a bit lately but does have five points in the last four games. He was held off the scoresheet during his last game but had a goal and four assists in the game prior to that. Tonight Zajac gets a decent matchup with Pittsburgh and makes for a solid value pick at center.
