High Value PG

Deron Williams-Dallas Mavericks (5,900): In his most recent game, Williams couldn’t buy a bucket going 1-9 from the field and totaling just four points, five assists, and a rebound against the Rockets for a measly 9.7 fantasy points. However, the veteran had been producing well before that game with at least 32 fantasy points in four of his previous six games.  He faces the Lakers tonight who have allowed more fantasy points to opposing PG than any other team in the NBA, so he should be set up for a good night despite last Sunday’s burn.

Donald Sloan-Brooklyn Nets (4,500): Sloan continues to produce decent but not outstanding numbers while starting at PG for the Nets.  He had 11 points and six rebounds to go with two steals and two assists against the Thunder on Sunday for a solid 24.2 fantasy points. He has at least 23 fantasy points in five of his last six games and is producing solid peripherals to keep his value up.  He usually doesn’t score a ton of points, but he does get rebounds and assists at a good rate.  Tonight, he’ll face a Miami team that will still be without Goran Dragic which should allow Sloan to continue his nice value return.

Archie Goodwin-Phoenix Suns (4,100): Goodwin is the starting PG for the beleaguered and injury-riddled Suns as they roll into Phily tonight. Goodwin has put together two nice games against the spurs and Hawks his last two times out with 20 and 24 points and 26.6 and 35.2 fantasy points. His return at this price has been impressive, and with Knight already ruled out for tonight he makes a great cheap play. The reason why I like Goodwin so much isn’t just his production–in those two games he has played 39 and 41 minutes, and if he keeps getting that much playing time there’s a low risk of him ending up with under 25 fantasy points which is a very good return at his cost.

Cameron Payne-Oklahoma City Thunder (3,700): Payne is the best option under 4K at PG tonight since he’s starting to see regular run in the Thunder rotation.  His minutes still fluctuate from game to game, but he has at least 16 fantasy points in five of his last seven games.  Even if you don’t get him in your lineup tonight, he’s worth watching to see what role he plays for OKC going forward this year.
