DeMarcus Cousins is the NBA’s most intriguing potential trade piece and here are five teams that could pry the big man away from the Sacramento Kings.

Would the Sacramento Kings actually do it? Would the franchise that hasn’t made the Western Conference Playoffs in a decade trade away its best player in the midst of a legitimate playoff run? Does it make sense for the Kings to send superstar center DeMarcus Cousins to the Eastern Conference (obviously) in a NBA trade deadline blockbuster deal?

The Kings occupy the eighth and final Western Conference Playoff spot despite a losing record of 20-24 entering play Tuesday. Sacramento is two games up on the ninth place Portland Trail Blazers in the loss column and the Kings are surprisingly a competent basketball team in 2015-16 under head coach George Karl.

However, by having arguably the best center in basketball today in Cousins, the Kings do have tremendous bargaining power should other general managers in the league inquire about Cousins’ perceived availability to new Sacramento general manager and Kings legend Vlade Divac.

Divac wouldn’t think about trading Cousins to a team in the Pacific Division or probably even the Western Conference for that matter. Should he have owner Vivek Ranadive’s blessing to move the talented but at times frustrating All-NBA center in Cousins, here are five teams that Sacramento could strike up a deal with out of the Eastern Conference.
