DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 27
High Value PG
Jeremy Lin-Charlotte Hornets (5,700): One of the players who has had to step up for Charlotte due to their injuries is Jeremy Lin. Lin has been excellent in the Hornets’ last two games posting 40.25 and 46.25 fantasy points and scoring over 20 points in each of those contests, He has over 25 fantasy points in five of his last ten games, and if Batum and Lamb are forced to sit tonight look for Lin to be very involved once again. No Batum-∗∗∗∗ With Batum-∗∗
Marcus Smart-Boston Celtics (5,100): Given the Nuggets struggles to defend the point outlined in my Isaiah Thomas pick, I also like Marcus Smart to have a solid game as he continues to serve as the Celtics sixth man. He has at least 32 fantasy points in each of his last two games and in four of his last seven. On Monday in Washington he finished with a well-balanced 13 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. He’ll need to continue to produce across the board since his scoring can sometimes still be inconsistent. However, since he has played at least 29 minutes in four of the C’s last five games, I like him as a solid value play even though he’s coming off the bench. ∗∗∗
Trey Burke-Utah Jazz (4,400): In good news for Burke owners or potential owners, he should get a heavy dose of minutes tonight against the Hornets since Raul Neto has been ruled out with a concussion. In bad news, Burke is coming off a rough game when he failed to score a single point missing all eight shots against Detroit finishing with zero points and six assists for just nine fantasy points. He will get the opportunity, but he’s still high risk since he is coming off a complete dud.∗∗∗
J.J. Barea-Dallas Mavericks (3,600): Barea is a high-risk play whose playing time has faded as of late, but he had a good game last night against the Lakers playing 28 minutes and posting 18 points to go with four assists and four rebounds (for 30.5 fantasy points). It was Barea’s shooting that helped power the Mavs to their win over Golden State at the end of December as he shot 9-12 from the field and 5-6 from long range on his way to 23 points, six assists, three rebounds, and a steal. Remember, though, Barea was starting then and Stephen Curry wasn’t. Barea will almost certainly come off the bench tonight, but he still should get some extra playing time against the Warriors small-ball lineups and be a high-risk, high-reward play tonight. ∗∗
Troy Daniels-Charlotte Hornets (3,600): Daniels had a monster game scoring a career-high 28 points against the Kings in Monday’s double-overtime win in Sacramento including hitting the game-winning triple. Daniels has been pressed into service due to the injuries in Charlotte and has scored at least 11 points in three of his last four games although he had not quite approached the 40.75 fantasy points he finished with on Monday. He will look to keep rolling tonight in Utah and is a solid play if Batum and Lamb are both out. If both Batum/Lamb are out-∗∗∗ If either plays-∗
