4. Shawn Oakman, DE, Baylor

For all the memes made about Oakman last year and all the hype he received leading up to the 2015 regular season, it’s difficult to determine exactly where his draft stock lies heading into the combine.

At times, Oakman has flashed the ability to completely take over games as a dynamic pass rusher, particularly during his fantastic 2014 season. NFL teams are always looking for more pass rushers, particularly the kind who can wreck a gameplan like that, and Oakman was even mentioned as a potential top-five pick following his performance in the 2015 Cotton Bowl.

However, Oakman did not play nearly as well last season and has likely fallen out of discussion to be picked on the first day, let alone in the top five. Oakman will now need a big performance at the Scouting Combine to at least partially repair his draft stock, which he is certainly capable of doing.

At 6-8, 276 pounds, Oakman is an intimidating physical specimen that will surely intrigue scouts. Oakman figures to score off the charts on strength tests, and his powerful frame and long arms could surely help his draft stock.

While Oakman is still not very developed as a pass rusher, the Scouting Combine will provide him a great opportunity to show off the skills he does possess. With great numbers at the combine, scouts will be able to see the massive upside, and Oakman will sneak back into discussion to be picked in the second or third round.

Either way, Oakman’s incredible physical measurables will make him one of the most interesting players to watch at the Scouting Combine.
