High Salary C

DeMarcus Cousins-Sacramento Kings (11,200): Yes it’s obvious to go with Boogie tonight, but he’s in a great matchup against the Pelicans who allow the second-most fantasy points in the NBA  to opposing centers.  Cousins dropped 32 points on them when the teams played earlier this year while using 12 boards, an assist, and a steal.  Cousins will be looking to bounce back after a woeful 4-21 shooting performance against the Blazers as he tries to help his team shake off losses on both ends of a back-to-back earlier this week.  Cousins could end up being worth his crazy-high salary if he can return tot he form he showed before Tuesday’s letdown.  In his previous four games, Cousins had three games of at least 60 fantasy points including his monitors 75.4 fantasy points against the Hornets.  The Pelicans are in a similar defensive place to where Charlotte was in that one so look for Cousins to go back to piling up points tonight.

Pau Gasol-Chicago Bulls (8,700): Gasol returns to LA to face his former team as the Bulls visit the Lakers who have allowed more fantasy points to opposing centers than any other team in the NBA.  Gasol is coming off a big night of 19 points and 17 rebounds against the Heat and has at least 40 fantasy points in three of his last five games.  He is playing heavy minutes with Joakim Noah out for the year and is in a great matchup to attack tonight.  If you think he can even approach Cousins total output, you can save 2,500 and go with Gasol instead of Cousins tonight. ∗∗∗

Jonas Valanciunas-Toronto Raptors (6,400): Valanciunas had a nice double-double on Tuesday but four turnovers limited him to 25.4 fantasy points. He has at least 25 fantasy points in each of his last seven games with over 30 in five of those seven contests. He should be able to succeed against New York tonight and has plenty of offensive upside if he’s asked to take some of Kyle Lowry’s production.
