4. Minnesota Timberwolves

If listing the best trade destinations for D’Angelo Russell is going to be fun, it would be crazy not to stick him on a team with the best crop of young talent in the NBA, the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are absolutely loaded with young talent on their roster.

The team has Karl Anthony-Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine as the core of the roster right now in terms of youthful talent. They also will be having another high draft pick coming this year and probably next year as well as they continue to grow and get experience.

That means that the Timberwolves are going to be oozing in future potential and are going to be downright terrifying to play when all of their young talent hits their future potential. However, one guy that the Timberwolves could move as they continue toward their goal of stockpiling young talent is Ricky Rubio.

While Rubio is one of the best pure passers in the league, the Timberwolves could move him to a big market where he could shine. If the Timberwolves really wanted Russell, a deal wouldn’t be too hard to achieve. They could move Rubio and either this year’s pick or next year’s pick for Russell, which would give the Lakers an established point guard and another top pick to pick another top player.

To match salaries, the Lakers would have to throw in someone like a Nick Young or Brandon Bass, but this move would be a win-win for both teams.
