3. Phoenix Suns

No one loves point guards quite like the Phoenix Suns. In fact, they have been at their most exciting to watch this season without their two point guards Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight. It’s given Archie Goodwin and Devin Booker time to shine on the court and they’ve played hard every single night.

What is looking bad for the Suns is the Brandon Knight deal. While his contract isn’t bad and will be good with the salary cap spike incoming, they gave up a lot to get him at the trade deadline and he just isn’t working out as a point guard in the two-guard system in Phoenix.

Another concern is the knees of Eric Bledsoe. He is out for the remainder of the year after having surgery on his MCL and this is the second time that he has had a knee surgery in three seasons with the Suns that has put him out for a lengthy amount of time.

While Bledsoe is the man in Phoenix and is clearly the superior point guard to Knight, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Suns out there still looking for a point guard of the Phoenix, because of the situation with Bledsoe’s health and Knight’s inability to be a floor general.

If the Suns wanted to make a deal with their rivals, they have the pieces to get such a deal done. They have a bevy of first-round picks, including their own picks and could make the deal to get D’Angelo Russell. A deal of Knight and their first for Russell and Nick Young as salary could work.

The Suns might think they have two point guards on the roster, but the harsh reality is that they might not have any at all.
