FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 29
High Value PF
Julius Randle-Los Angeles Lakers (5,800): Randle is expected to start again tonight for the Lakers as they take on the Clippers even though Larry Nance Jr. has returned to the rotation. Randle has played well in his extra time with Nance limited, and has managed to post at least 20 fantasy points in each of his last ten contests. He has finished with over 27 fantasy points in three of his last four including last night’s game against the Bulls when he had 14 points, eight boards, an assist, and a block. Randle has at least eight rebounds in each of his last six games and is right around a low-level double-double almost every game making him a very nice option at under 6K. ∗∗∗∗
Derrick Williams-New York Knicks (4,900): Williams had a surprisingly uninspiring stat line last night against Toronto despite the Knicks being without Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jose Calderon. Even with all that playing time available, Williams only managed 17 fantasy points on six points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal. His production tonight will depend on how many of those starters return, but he does have the potential to produce as he showed with a pair of nice double-doubles (with 42.8 and 37 fantasy points) earlier this week. Williams has become an important part of New York’s rotation, so look for him to get good minutes tonight in a good matchup against the Suns. No Melo and no Porzingis-∗∗∗∗∗ With one of Melo or Porzingis-∗∗∗∗ With Melo and Porzingis-∗∗∗
Aaron Gordon-Orlando Magic (4,400): Gordon has joined the Magic starting lineup for his last three games and has posted 22.4, 20.8, and 26.3 fantasy points. He had nine points and nine rebounds in a huge 37 minutes against the Bucks on Tuesday, and he’ll be in a good matchup tonight against the Celtics who allow the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing PF. Gordon will be a very solid value play if he again draws over 30 minutes of playing time for coach Scott Skiles. ∗∗∗∗
Josh Smith-Houston Rockets (4,100): Smith’s return to Houston has revitalized his fantasy relevancy and he has played over 21 minutes in each of his four games back with the Rockets. Smith has over 23 fantasy points in three of those four games and even managed 23.4 fantasy points against the Spurs when he finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. He’s still risky coming off the bench for the Rockets, but he definitely has upside enough to make him a cheap consideration tonight. ∗∗
