4. Atlanta Hawks

This would be an extremely interesting fit for Blake Griffin because the Hawks currently have built their team around having 11 guys who can play and not relying too heavily on any one player. However, that’s most likely not going to win them a championship. In the end, the Hawks are going to need to get an elite player to contend for a title. Griffin is definitely an elite player.

The Hawks would have a plethora of options to offer the Clippers in exchange for Griffin. Most likely, they’d have to include either Al Horford or Paul Millsap. Horford would be the more obvious choice since he will soon be a free agent. However, they would likely need to move someone else significant along with Horford in order to get Griffin. A package involving Millsap would not cost the Hawks as much as one that revolves around Horford.

Millsap would help make the Clippers a slightly more balanced team and carries a lower salary cap hit than him. Millsap currently leads the Hawks in scoring, rebounding, and steals. He’d be able to do some pretty special things with Chris Paul as his point guard too. However, this trade would leave the Clippers with a void around the net so the Hawks would likely need to provide help in that regard to the Clippers if they really want Blake Griffin.
