3. Boston Celtics

Blake Griffin would make a ton of sense for the Boston Celtics, as they absolutely need to get a superstar to lead their team. They have some nice role players, however, a guy like Griffin could make them contenders if they make some other moves to build a team around him.

However, trading Griffin to the Celtics might not make much sense for the Clippers unless they are set on trading him and there’s nothing to suggest that they are at that point yet. While they would likely at least entertain offers for Griffin, there’s virtually no reason for them to accept anything in return that isn’t an overpay.

The Celtics do have one thing going for them, in that they have a ton of future draft picks. Granted, it would take a lot more than just draft picks to acquire the Clippers’ leading scorer. The Celtics would likely have to throw in Avery Bradley. Bradley is an extremely talented and young player and he would form a deadly backcourt with Chris Paul. Not to mention the Clippers could have the luxury of bringing in J.J. Reddick off the bench to make big shots. They’d likely have to include Jared Sullinger too, who could be a great option for them off the bench and might even be a starter.

Don’t count them out of acquiring Blake Griffin because they’ve proven that they are willing to make bold moves.
