5 trade destinations for Taj Gibson
3. Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have finally got two cornerstone players that they can build around in DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo. Both players have the Kings playing competitive basketball and in contention for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
However, there’s still work to be done in Sacramento and they need to know that if they get to the playoffs in the final spot in the Western Conference, things are going to get physical and they need to add another player alongside Cousins that can play with a physical edge.
Perhaps the two sides could swing a bigger deal involving Rudy Gay, but there are other ways to make a deal like this work, with the Kings sending a variety of role players in return. Maybe some picks would have to be involved, but in a deal like this for Gibson, it should be easier than most to work out.
The Bulls would want some offensive firepower in return or some depth up front, which the Kings could provide. With Cousins, Gibson and Rondo, the Kings would have a serious edge to them and they would be a very physical team going forward.
With the way that Cousins has taken off as a player this season, Gibson would only need to focus on doing his job defensively and getting rebounds without having to worry about providing offensively.
