3. Find the receivers on explosive plays

Again, it’s not like the Panthers are exactly loaded with talent at the wide receiver position. Still, Carolina featured one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL this season and has the ability to generate a splash play on any given snap.

That needs to continue in the Super Bowl, with Newton leading the charge. Newton clearly has the superior arm strength for deep passes, so it will be a matter of finding his receivers for explosive plays in the rare chance that Denver gives him on opportunity.

In particular, the speed of Ginn and Brown will be interesting to watch against the Broncos secondary. As good as Talib and Harris are in coverage, both receivers have the type of explosive speed that could generate one or two huge plays down the field against anyone.

Even if the Panthers have a difficult time moving the ball against Denver in general, all it’s going to take is a few splash plays of 15 yards or longer to win. Given that the Broncos themselves figure to have a tough time scoring, Carolina’s explosive ability could make the difference.

Newton’s skill set is perfect for generating those explosive plays, so he will be the most important Carolina player in that regard. The Panthers can help him out by getting the ball to Ginn in space as well, such as they did on his long touchdown on a reverse in the NFC Championship Game.
