High Salary C

Pau Gasol-Chicago Bulls (8,700): Gasol and the Bulls were forced to play overtime on Monday and Pau was pushed to 40 minutes while still finishing just two rebounds shy of a double-double and producing a total of 36.5 fantasy points. He has at least 36 fantasy points in each of his last five gams with three games over 47 fantasy points during that timespan.  He has been a steady contributor since Joakim Noah was lost for the season, and Gasol should be in a place to succeed tonight wether DeMarcus Cousins plays, sits, or is limited against Chicago tonight. I’d take Lopez over Gasol for the upside, but Gasol is a very reliable option as well. ∗∗

Brook Lopez-Brooklyn Nets (7,500): Lopez is not a cheap option, but he has been extremely productive for the Nets and could be in a place to succeed against the Pacers who don’t have a lot of front court depth.  Lopez had 27 points on Monday in his duel with Andre Drummond while adding five rebounds to get to 42.25 fantasy points. He has at least 53 fantasy points in three of his last five games and has scored 27 points or more in four of those five contests.  He should be the focus of the Nets attack again tonight in Brooklyn, and if you can afford him he’s a good play at center tonight.

Rudy Gobert-Utah Jazz (6,900): Gobert is a different option than both Gasol and Lopez since he’s much more of a defensive presence than a score-first big man, but he still is a productive fantasy play for the Jazz.  Gobert has at least 37 fantasy points in five of his last eight games and has at least 12 rebounds in four straight.  Against the Nuggets tonight, he’ll look to produce his fourth double-double in five games, and he’ll also be matched up against the defensively-challenged although offensively-emerging Nikola Jokic. I like what the Jazz are doing, and I like Gobert as an option in the middle tonight.

Myles Turner-Indiana Pacers (6,400): Turner is here to stay, and he continued his breakout run with his first career double-double on Monday against the Cavs while blocking four shots for the second straight game.  Turner has at least 25 fantasy points in each of his last eight games since his first big game in Denver, and has 35+ fantasy points in three of those contests.  He is an emerging star for the Pacers and needs to be started against a Nets front line that has allowed the most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF in their last five and the fourth-most to opposing centers so far this season.
